Cadin GTX Lo

An athletically inspired, lightweight approach shoe. Its low profile, stiff outsole provides precision and stability on alpine terrain and via ferratas. The abrasion-resistant reptile-patterned toe and heel caps protect without the added weight of a full rand. Durably waterproof/breathable.

I love the stability of the relatively stiff shank, which is not overly stiff. Appear to be well made. Fit is medium to narrow. The marketing description led me to believe this shoe was stiff enough for hinged crampons, which was stiffer than I wanted. I ordered it anyway expecting to return it. But the shoe is not that stiff. It's just right for rocky trails. Good protection of my feet, comfortable flex at the ball but very little longitudinal torque flex. So it allows good balance on uneven surfaces. I wish I could comment on its durability, but I have not had them long enough. They appear to be made well. The country of origin (Italy) gives me some confidence they will last. Despite that, experience makes me fearful that the shank will soften too much with use. I hope not because I really like these the way they are new. I have a narrow foot and this shoe fits well. I think it would fit a medium width foot well but might be tight on a wide food.
