Details That Matter
For close to 90 years, LOWA BOOTS have by been acclaimed as the
finest outdoor boots in the world by climbers, mountaineers,
hikers, the media and certified quality testers. Our attention
to every detail in the design, sourcing and European
manufacturing process has earned our reputation for building the
world’s most comfortable and durable boots since 1923.
HAND-CRAFTED IN EUROPE
After almost nine decades of boot-making under
the world’s most stringent manufacturing, environmental
and labor regulations, we know how to put into practice
what many other companies only pay lip service to: Clean
manufacturing processes, minimal waste and fair labor
practices: the outcome of which are boots that last
longer than our competitors, on average 5 to 7 years.
LOWA is the only outdoor footwear manufacturer
in the world to be granted ISO 9001 status for the
highest quality construction and process standards.

Supination/Pronation Support Technology, featured in
our Classic boots, is key to providing support. By
placing TPU inserts within the softer PU midsole
mold, we are able to control and often prevent
over-pronation and supination which often occur
during hiking, and which can contribute to fatigue
and injury over long distances.

Heel Truss - A LOWA Exclusive
The Heel Truss found on select Mountaineering boots
plays an important role in stabilizing the
connection between the boot shaft and the sole

and upper protection and firms up the heel pocket
for better heel hold.

Lacing Technology-A LOWA Exclusive
Special to-the-toe lacing allows for less pressure along insteps plus cushioned ridges allow the tongue to settle in place without laces exerting pressure on instep. This technique holds the foot closely, yet reduces the strain across the toes, especially when going downhill.

C4 Tongue - A LOWA Exclusive
Anatomically-contoured for a natural flex that
cradles the foot in comfort and promotes a faster
break-in time. The four main features of the “C4”
Tonguenoticeably increases walking comfort:
- Asymmetrical padding (thicker towards the outside of the foot)
- Recessed ankle areas (inside higher than the outside)
- Flexible curved inset towards the inside of the foot
- Softer edging on the upper end

Climate Control System-A LOWA Exclusive
This moisture management system keeps feet dry, protecting you against
blisters and hot spots. A series of perforations or holes inside the boot’s
cuff lining allows air to enter the boot lining while the walking movement
pumps heat and moisture back out through the holes. Moisture is pulled away
from the foot, evaporating while you walk.
